Princess Zelda by Zolaida Princess Zelda by Zolaida
*Edit: There were a LOT of people calling Zelda fat in my picture, and since my anatomy knowledge became a little stronger since I drew this, I edited her frame according to her body type :) I also made changes to the face, and I uploaded the picture in a bigger version (hit the download button). I thought I'd let you guys know!

I'm gonna call this finished! Princess Zelda, from the Legend of Zelda, my chilhood Link La
I loved her look the most in Twilight Princess, and I like her character the most in Skyward Sword. Both such great games ;^; So I thought I'd do a fanart of one of the versions (for now hehe). It was really difficult to actually envision something so important to me, let alone if I drew Link :scared:

I drew Midna before, see here.

What I love about this is that she's not too skinny, she's beautiful and fierce. It shows that she's not a (tri)force to be reckoned with.

There's nothing saying you have to fight her but princesses are(for lack of a better word)cliched as being weak/defenseless so it's likely she's simply compensating and might actually have a genuine interest in you as well while attempting to not come off as naive/desperate/needy which is also in tha cliche handbook!

I've always really loved Zelda, she's such a cool character, the look they gave her in Twilight Princess has always been the one that I consider the best looking, it's definitely my favorite...though her appearance in Ocarina of Time is a pretty close second. I like how you kind of (intentionally or not) mixed those two styles together, this is a great looking picture, Zelda looks really badass here too :D Great picture, you've really done her justice.

It was definitely hard to pick one design; I love them all! Thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear I've done her justice. It's a very important character to me. Hope we get to enjoy a new Zelda soon!

Same here, well, there are a couple I'm not super fond of really (like I didn't really like how Zelda looked in Skyward Sword).
And you're very welcome indeed, it's always nice to find really super accurate depictions of Zelda like this one, so, again, fantastic work :D
Well, I do know that we're going to be getting a new Zelda game for the WiiU at some point in the near-ish future (Nintendo had an announcement/teaser trailer for it at one of the recent Cons) and Hyrule Warriors literally just came out....but yeah, I can't wait to see what Nintendo is going to do with the franchise in the future. I really do hope though that they go back to a more a realistic look like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess rather than going with a sort psuedo Wind Waker, cel-shaded style like the most recent games have been :/ I don't need or necessarily want the gritty, hyper-realistic graphics in Twilight Princess (though I sure as heck wouldn't pitch a fit if another one was done in that style), but I definitely want to see more Zelda games released by Nintendo in a more realistic style/look like the ones I mentioned...

That means a lot, really, thank you! :D Ahh yes, I can get that. To be honest, I am not picky with style, actually. I've loved every style so far, and they keep doing different things; that's what I love about the franchise  Never get bored! I really loved Skyward Sword (it got so much hate though xD), and I'm so curious what they'll do next. Well, they can't go wrong in my books, really :giggle:

I definitely care more about how the game plays than it looks, but that's a fine line though, if the game looks too weird or stylistic it'd take out some of my immersion in the game, like that's one of the main reasons why I haven't touched the Wind Waker, even though it's one of the few Zelda titles we actually own. Most of the Zelda games look just fine in terms of style though.
Yeah, I think I heard some about that, never why Skyward Sword was hated though, just that some people really didn't like it. I never saw anything wrong with it from the brief little bit I watched my friend play when she came over with it, it looked pretty awesome and just about as fun as all the rest of the Zelda games. It looks like the knew one coming out might be closer to an open-world type game like the Elder Scrolls than previous Zelda games have been, the area we were looking at in the teaser trailer was definitely really big, certainly seemed a bigger Hyrule Field type place than any of the older Zelda games....and yeah, I think I'm pretty much the same, can't really ever go wrong with Nintendo in my opinion =P

While I do wish you hadn't changed her body type, since I'm sure she was gorgeous even then, I do love the powerful pose, angle, colors, and her fierce, determined expression. That expression, those eyes, are seriously about to make me swoon. She's a royal I could definitely respect! She is beautiful, and she is strong, and you're portraying her both ways here, so great job! :highfive:
I wish I could sword-fight with Zelda. *^* I'd lose horribly, but it'd be an excellent experience. xD

I never thought the first version was fat, in fact, I thought she was perfect. Zelda's not a twig, she just has wide hips. :/
People are dumb, but I still love this piece. <3

Thanks so much  In my eyes she has a "normal" body type as well. She's a strong lady! I hope I can draw her another time to perfect that

Next time you draw her, base her body off of what YOU think she would have. TP!Zelda has a more "masculine" frame as well, when compared to SS!Zelda or OOT!Zelda. She's also athletic, and she has better things to worry about than being an anorexic supermodel.
Besides, love comes in all shapes and sizes~! Good luck hon.

Ahhh you are right 100% ;_; It was hard to stand by my point of view while many people thought otherwise. It's one of the hardships of the internet I suppose, but at least I always grow stronger from it :)

The vibrant background lighting, balanced palette, and proper physical proportions enhance Zelda's beauty, power, and wisdom, and replicate these qualities throughout the entire piece.  Awesome job!Clap

Fat? They're just used to seeing impossibly thin digital girls. I think you've made her look strong, determined and she not going to take any rubbish from Gannon or his lackeys. Now here's a female character I can look up to!
